Security agencies have recovered 101 stolen cattle following a coordinated operation in Mukogodo Forest as part of ongoing efforts to combat banditry and livestock theft in Laikipia County.
The operation, carried out by a multi-agency team, targeted areas including Arjijo, Anandangu’ro, and Lokosero—locations that have previously been flagged as hotspots for cattle rustling and related criminal activities.
Authorities confirmed that all the recovered livestock were safely escorted to a police station, where they are being held as the process of identification and verification continues ahead of their return to rightful owners.

The recovery marks a significant step in ongoing security operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating in the region. Officials say sustained patrols, intelligence-led operations, and collaboration with local communities have played a key role in recent successes.
The National Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining pressure on bandit groups, restoring stability, and ensuring that residents in affected areas can carry out their livelihoods without fear.
