16 bodaboda riders are this morning expected in court over last Friday’s incident in which some of them were caught on camera molesting a female motorist along Wangari Maathai Road in Nairobi after an accident.
The men were arrested in a police operation in the area which also saw five motorcycles detained.
The incident came to public limelight after a video that captured the drama was uploaded online.
The woman yesterday recorded her statement at Parklands police station and said she lost a mobile phone to the gang in the drama.
She said she was driving on the road when she hit a bodaboda rider and tried to negotiate with his colleagues in vain and later drove off.
The riders pursued her and blocked her way prompting the harassment. The incident has elicited public outcry calling for action to tame the riders.
