2 Nairobi Apartments Worth Ksh.27.5M Freezed As Vihiga County Staffers Probed For Graft

Nairobi court freezes two Nairobi apartments worth Ksh.27.5 million to pave way for 13 Vihiga County employees to be investigated over graft.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) secured a High Court decision blocking the purchase of two apartments with funds suspected of being stolen from the Vihiga County government by 13 persons.

One apartment is worth Ksh.14 million and is at Nextgen Park on Mombasa Road, while the other is valued at Ksh.13.5 million and is in Fourways Junction.

EACC believes the properties were acquired separately using money fraudulently obtained from Vihiga County Government.

Vihiga County head of procurement and his two wives, one of whom is a county employee, are among the 13 suspects under investigation.

Others include the former Chief Officer and his wife, both county employees, as well as eight others.
