A 20-year-old man passed on at a Nairobi Estate after he fell from a balcony during a house party session with friends.
According to reports, Gachui Karanja slipped off from the apartment’s fifth floor and died on the spot.
The party was attended by eight people who say that they thought Karanja was talking on the phone only to hear him scream and later a thud on the ground.
Upon rushing outside, they found Karanja lying in a pool of blood.
After the incident, they called the police who picked Karanja’s body and took it to the mortuary.
According to Nairobi police boss James Mugera, the young man could have been intoxicated by those who attended the party.
“We suspect he was intoxicated at the time he fell but we are also investigating to establish if there were other issues that led to this tragic incident,” Mugera said.
The incident happened over the weekend with a requiem mass for his body conducted on Monday at a church in Lavington in celebration of his life.
