2022: ODM Financier Jimmy Wanjigi Wants To Be President

Wanjigi rose to prominence in 2017 after armed security personnel raided his home in what he described as political persecution.

Wanjigi, who is known in political circles as the fixer, is proud of putting together the UhuRuto ticket in 2013, which brought together President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto and dealt a blow to the then-CORD coalition.

He then endorsed Raila Odinga and the National Super Alliance (NASA) for the president.

Wanjigi, who is known in political circles as the fixer, is proud of bringing together President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on the UhuRuto ticket in 2013, which dealt a blow to the then CORD coalition of Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula.

He would fall out with the duo in the run-up to the 2017 election and switch camps to support Odinga.

Now, as if reinventing himself from being a political fixer, Wanjigi is launching a new campaign.

“I have stated unequivocally that I intend to run for President of this country on the ODM ticket. He went on to say that the party needs new leadership and that this is a genuine aim.

He says the country is in a different era and thinks the moment is ripe for fresh leadership.

“Every era has its heroes and warriors, and the heroes and warriors of independence are extensively documented in history. He added, “The second liberation had its warriors and heroes… This is now a different moment, and you cannot tell me that former warriors and heroes would continue to fight new wars and new obstacles.”

As to whether he will unseat Raila’s apparent direct ticket, will be decided in a few hours.

Others say his candidature was better placed at leading Nairobi county, a position which has been occupied by all manner of crooks and flamboyance.
