This week marked the start of heightened political activity as the country draws closer to the General Elections. For instance, Raila’s Takataka rhetoric referring to Ruto’s hustler agenda has elicited massive reaction.
Despite his good intentions (and a bad analogy) in explaining his economic model for Kenya, leaders allied to the Deputy President’s camp, have reduced the argument into an insult.
In another instance, Ruto was ‘blocked’ from travelling to Uganda, and his investor humiliated. This resulted in sharp criticism of President Uhuru’s government for allegedly frustrating his 2022 State House Bid.
The recent events have been viewed as polarizing to innocent Kenyans on the verge of a Transitional election, a stage that has a bad history in Kenya.
The electorate has been dragged into a war between political supremos whose ambition is to grab power, and are willing to go through hell in clinching power.
In the events of the 2007 Elections, Kenyans were hoodwinked into hating their neighbors to feed political egos who refused to stand down and accept defeat. The scars of the poll chaos still remain carved at the back of their victims’ minds.
Therefore the NCIC must remain vigilant to point out hate, insults, and unethical politics which spell doom to the economy already battered by COVID-19.
As to who will clinch the 2022 Presidential elections, that hustler will need you as his customer, while the so-called dynasty will need you in his/her business venture.
Politics is just a noisy job interview in which adults fight to be called mheshimiwa while they deliver their promises to those who elect them.
