Authorities in Laikipia County have successfully recovered 25 goats that had been stolen on September 9, 2025, following a coordinated community-security operation.

The recovery was made on Sunday, September 14, in the Mutara area through the joint efforts of the Samburu Peace Committee, elders from Kahuho Village, and the area chief.

The livestock has been secured at the Olmotonyi ASTU Camp, where it awaits formal handover to its rightful owner.

A multi-agency security team is following leads to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

In a statement, the National Police Service commended the collaboration between local peace committees, elders, and administrative officers, noting that such partnerships are key to maintaining security and restoring stolen property.
