2NK Driver Lands County Job

Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga has granted a job to a 2NK Sacco matatu driver who blew the whistle on high school kids smoking bhang and consuming beer in a PSV vehicle.

On his Facebook page, Kahiga stated that the driver, John Maina Muthoni, should have been praised for his bravery rather than being fired by the Sacco.

Governor Kahiga said his administration was offering him a job as a sign of support for speaking out against issues that affect not only young people but the entire population.

2NK Sacco came under fire from Kenyans on November 20 when Muthoni described how he was sacked shortly after driving a group of 14 boisterous high school students to Sagana Police Station for drinking alcohol and smoking bhang.

Kenyans went to Facebook after Kahiga’s announcement to thank him for the thoughtful gesture and for thanking the driver for preserving great morals.

Simultaneously, some members of the public have called on authorities to investigate the operations of transportation Saccos in order to safeguard drivers against unfair suspension in the future.
