The ministry of health has confirmed a total of 826,617 persons who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 disease across the country.
Of these, 477,754 are aged 58 years and above, Health workers, 152,809, Teachers 126,801 while 69,253 Security Officers have been vaccinated.
As of April 25, 2021, a total of 1,080,000 doses had been distributed to the regional depots across the country.
A balance of 40,000 doses are remaining at the Kitengela Central Vaccines stores.
The doses have been distributed as follows: Nairobi 393,000, Meru 39,000, Nyeri 84,000, Garissa/Mandera 25,000, Mombasa 66,000, and Kakamega 81,000.
Other entities have administered vaccines as follows; Nakuru 117,000, Eldoret 129,000, Kisumu 108,000, Military and other government ministries 38,000.
Nairobi leads counties with the highest number of vaccinated persons at 256,282 followed by Nakuru with 54,022, Kiambu 44,876, Uasin Gishu 40,040 and Nyeri with 31,251.
Counties with lowest numbers of persons vaccinated to date include Wajir where 2,014 people have been vaccinated, Garissa 1,983, and Isiolo 1,438
Counties that have reported less than 1,000 vaccinations include; Tana River which reported 732 vaccinations, Lamu 592 and Marsabit with 546 vaccinated persons.
