A 45-year-old woman, Charity Muthoni Mutoi, died after jumping from the nineteenth floor of the View Park Towers in Nairobi on Wednesday evening, November 6.

Authorities have reported that they are investigating the tragic event as a potential suicide.

Witnesses revealed that Mutoi had been visiting a male friend who runs a printing business on the ground floor. The two shared tea before she excused herself, reportedly climbing to the nineteenth floor shortly afterward.

Security guards discovered her shoes, jacket, and mobile phone left behind on the upper floor, indicating that she may have intended to take her life.

Just moments before her jump, Mutoi reportedly sent a message to her friend expressing her intention to commit suicide.

She fell onto a tent erected on the ground floor, sustaining severe injuries. Emergency responders found the body badly damaged, with reports suggesting the impact was devastating. The police have not yet established a motive for her tragic decision.

Mutoi’s body has been transferred to the City Mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted.
