Police in Kiambaa sub-county, Kiambu, have arrested five suspects following the mysterious death of a 23-year-old lady who is alleged to have fallen from an eighth floor of a building on Monday.
According to reports, the five are being treated as suspects by police, who have locked them up at the Karuri police station.
Reports indicate that the woman had visited her friends who lived on the seventh floor in an apartment in Gacharage.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Kiambaa deputy county commissioner Peter Maina said investigations into what happened before the lady identified as Catherine Njeri died had begun.
“The police have started the probe. The suspects will record statements and help the detectives with all the details they will need,” he said.
However, tenants of the building said they only heard a loud sound of a falling object.
“We rushed out to see what was happening and we were shocked to see it was a lady’s body,” said Simon Mburu, a tenant.
Her remains were taken to Kihara level 4 hospital mortuary where an autopsy will be conducted.
