Early this morning, tragedy struck when five people were killed in a horrific accident involving a matatu traveling from Eldoret to Nairobi.
The matatu lost control and rolled over on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway in the Sachangwan area, injuring eight others.
Mwenda Muthamia, the Molo Police Commander, said the victims were four men and one woman who died on the spot.
The injured passengers were taken to the Molo hospital and are currently being treated.
The bodies of those who died were taken to the hospital mortuary, while the matatu was taken to the Molo Police Station for investigation.
Muthamia urged all motorists to be cautious and follow traffic laws in order to avoid similar accidents in the future.
