WEST POINT, Miss.
A 24-year-old man went on a Friday night rampage across rural northeast Mississippi, killing six people—including a 7-year-old girl—in three separate locations before his arrest, authorities said Saturday.
The victims were identified by officials as the suspect’s father, brother, uncle, young cousin, a local pastor, and the pastor’s brother.
Daricka M. Moore was taken into custody just before midnight at a police roadblock in Cedarbluff following a massive manhunt involving dozens of local, state, and federal officers.

He is being held without bail on murder charges at the Clay County jail in West Point ahead of an initial court appearance scheduled for Monday.
Clay County District Attorney Scott Colom told The Associated Press he intends to pursue the death penalty and that Moore would likely be appointed a public defender.
Under state law, Moore would become ineligible for bail if charges are upgraded to capital murder before his hearing.
Sheriff Eddie Scott said evidence and witness accounts indicate Moore acted alone and that there were no other injuries. Investigators are still interviewing Moore, and a motive remains unknown.
