A 92-year-old grandmother has been hospitalized at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) after being attacked and raped at her home in Ofunyu village, Kisumu East sub-county, by an unknown suspect.
According to Central Kolwa location Chief Elijah Omumbo, the culprit entered the granny’s residence through the window before committing the horrible act.
According to Chief Omumbo, neighbors who heard noises coming from her residence in the middle of the night ran to her aid, but the culprit had already fled.
He claims that the elderly woman, who lives alone, was then rushed to JOOTRH hospital, where she is receiving treatment following the ordeal.
According to Chief Omumbo, police in Kisumu East sub-county are investigating the incident and hope to apprehend the offender soon.
