25 State Witnesses To Testify Against Eastleigh Cop Ahmed Rashid

Kibera High Court has set trial date against former Eastleigh-based cop Ahmed Rashid to begin on March 14, 2024.

The new development came after the prosecution informed the trial Judge that they had completed partial disclosure of witness statements and documentary evidence to the defence team.

Rashid, a former police officer attached at Eastleigh is on trial over the cold blood murder of two boys Jamal Mohammed and Mohammed Dhair Kheri- on March 31, 2017 at Amal Plaza in Eastleigh, Nairobi City County.

He has so far denied the two counts of murder before Justice Diana Kavedza and is out on a bond of Ksh200,000.

Today during pre-trial at the High Court in Kibera, prosecution counsel Alla Mulama told Justice Kavedza that the state will avail 25 witnesses to testify during trial and that 12 of them were ready to do so.

The 12 are police officers while the other 13 are civilians out of whom six will be placed under the care of the Witness Protection Agency.
