Fake KDF Officer Who Personated KDF Captain To Evade Alco Blow Tests Arraigned In Court

An imposter KDF officer who personated a KDF Captain to evade Alco blow tests at Museum Road in Nairobi has finally been arraigned in court alongside three other accomplices.

Koffi Bill Atinda was arrested on May 15 along Narayan roadblock in Parklands area after obstructing traffic police officers while on official duty by refusing to roll down his car windows for the test like all other motorists.

According to the police, when Koffi was stopped at an official roadblock by two police officers, he refused to lower his windows and instead stepped out of the car and identified himself as KDF Captain pointing at a KDF sticker displayed on the windscreen of his black Toyota Prado TX hence preventing the two police officers from arresting him and conducting a search on his motor vehicle.

Koffi would later been arrested where police recovered two papers intended to resemble and pass as USD 200 and 13 forged black unmarked papers.

He was also charged with being in possession of government stores namely Kenya Defense Forces sticker the property of KDF being reasonably suspected to have been stolen.

The second accused person Kennedy Otieno Odhiambo was charged with being in possession of public stores namely three tear gas canisters the property of Kenya Prison Services suspected to have been stolen.

The Third accused person Kennedy Otieno Omwanda was charged with being in possession of a police radio call the property of National Police Service suspected to have been stolen.

The fourth accused person a police officer called Aziz Ali Keeyokia was charged with neglecting to surrender 14 blanks of ammunition and three tear gas canisters to armor, a duty he was dutifully bound to perform under National Police Service Act.

The prosecution in objection for the release of the accused persons on bail, informed the Court that the matter is of National interest and that preliminary investigations confirms that the accused persons are part of bigger syndicate suspected to be conducting robberies within Nairobi.

Further, the police believe that the suspects alongside other accomplices are being used to destabilize peace during gatherings in Nairobi and Western Regions of Kenya by throwing tear gas canisters and shooting unnecessary leading to injuries and sometimes deaths whereby they shift the blame to police officers.

The four suspects will be detained until May 22, 2024, for their bail and bond ruling.
