Siaya Governor James Orengo has warned the four ODM members who President William Ruto nominated to the Cabinet saying they should be worried about their new job security.
Ruto on Wednesday nominated ODM national chairman John Mbadi the National Treasury CS, the two deputy party leaders Hassan Joho to the Mining and Blue Economy and Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperative and SMEs) and Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi to the Energy docket.
Addressing a function in Luo Nyanza on Friday, Orengo said proper systems should have been in place before the appointments were made.
While referencing the Grand Coalition government between ODM leader Raila Odinga and late Former President Mwai Kibaki, the Governor said the four should be prepared to exit the office anytime Ruto wishes.
“Right night now, the government in place right now is a Kenya Kwanza government. When Ruto was in Mombasa, he was talking about “Joho my minister, not Joho our minister,” Orengo said.
“When we went to the grand coalition, Kibaki could not sack anyone without Raila’s authority. It was written in the MoU.”
The Governor added:
“So today, if Ruto decides to sack them, they will be in problem. They have no document that is enforceable. It is like they did a wedding without a marriage certificate.”
