President Uhuru has extended the term of the BBI taskforce who will now lead the next process of the report.
The President and ODM leader Raila Odinga met the BBI team yesterday at the Statehouse where they thanked the team for putting together a report that captures the aspirations of Kenyans and requested the Taskforce to continue leading the BBI process.
According to a statement by Statehouse Spokesperson, Kanze Dena the taskforce will be mandated to steer the next phase of the process.
“The Taskforce will therefore steer the next phase of the process which will largely involve expanding and guiding public participation, and structuring recommendations by Kenyans into implementable action plans.” Read the statement.
The BBI report was officially launched by the President last month at the Bomas of Kenya.
The report came as a result of a handshake between the two leaders with the main purpose of having inclusivity in all government sectors.
