President William Ruto is scheduled to embark on a three-day development tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties next week, marking his first visit to the region in eight months.
The trip aims to engage with local leaders and discuss pressing developmental issues affecting the two counties.
On Thursday, President Ruto held discussions with a delegation of leaders from Kisii and Nyamira, including Kisii Governor Simba Arati.
The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming tour, during which Ruto is expected to address key projects and initiatives aimed at driving economic growth and improving living standards for residents.

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko confirmed the President’s impending visit, expressing optimism about the potential benefits of the tour. “It is true we shall be hosting the President for a development tour of the region next week,” Nyamoko stated. “His presence will surely bolster development efforts and community engagement in key areas.”
Although State House has yet to release the formal itinerary, local leaders anticipate that the tour will commence on Monday and conclude on Wednesday, with the President likely to visit various constituencies across both counties.
The anticipated tour comes at a crucial time for Kisii and Nyamira, which have faced various challenges, including infrastructure deficits and unemployment.
Community leaders are eager for Ruto to address these concerns while also unveiling new initiatives and funding opportunities.
