Travis Scott Released from Police Custody in Paris After Minor Altercation

American rapper Travis Scott has been released from French police custody without any charges following an incident at the luxurious Georges V hotel in Paris.

According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, Scott’s police custody was lifted, and all proceedings against him were terminated due to the minor nature of the altercation.

The 32-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Jacques Webster, was arrested in the early hours of Friday after authorities responded to reports of a disturbance involving a security guard.

The situation reportedly escalated when the guard intervened in a confrontation between Scott and his bodyguard. The prosecutor’s statement characterized the incident as “minor,” leading to Scott’s immediate release.

Scott, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary hip hop, was in Paris for the ongoing Olympics, where he was reportedly in attendance for the men’s basketball semifinal, watching the United States secure a victory over Serbia on Thursday night.

With over 100 songs featured on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, Scott has solidified his status in the music industry, achieving chart-topping success with hits like “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.”

Earlier this summer, Scott faced legal issues in Miami Beach, where he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and public intoxication after reportedly causing a scene at a marina.
