Mbappe, Vinicious Jr On Target As Real Madrid Beat Sociedad 2-0

Kylian Mbappé continued his impressive start for Real Madrid, scoring a pivotal goal in a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad at Reale Arena. This match marked Mbappé’s third goal in just two outings for the Spanish giants.

The French forward opened his La Liga account before the recent international break and solidified his impact late in the second half by confidently converting a penalty, sending goalkeeper Alex Remiro the wrong way following a foul on Vinicius Jr by Jon Aramburu.

Vinicius Jr. himself got Madrid on the scoreboard first in the 58th minute, also from the penalty spot, after a handball by former Manchester City defender Sergio Gomez. With this goal, Vinicius notched his second La Liga strike of the season.

However, Real Sociedad could have easily taken the lead, hitting the woodwork three times during the match. In the 25th minute, a powerful shot from Luka Susic struck the crossbar, while 10 minutes later, Sheraldo Becker’s left-footed effort rattled the bar again after Dani Carvajal’s defensive mishap. Shortly after halftime, Susic’s left-footed shot narrowly missed as it struck the post.

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham remained sidelined due to a calf injury but has returned to training.

The team is now unbeaten after five league matches but trails leaders Barcelona by a point, having played one more game. Madrid’s resilience continues to shine as they push for the top of the table.
