Kalonzo Musyoka Backs DP Gachagua As Impeachment Threats Heat Up

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has publicly expressed his support for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua amidst rising political tensions and alleged plans for his impeachment.

During a memorial service for victims of the Hillside Endarasha Academy fire, held on Thursday, Kalonzo emphasized the importance of standing united as a nation. He vowed not to stay silent while certain politicians sought to dismantle Gachagua’s position.

“We have a nation to build together,” he stated, reinforcing the need for political unity in the face of adversity.

Kalonzo’s sentiments were echoed by DAP Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa, who also assured Gachagua of his unwavering support. Wamalwa warned that attempts to undermine leadership in the Mt. Kenya region would not be tolerated.

“Those planning to burn the mountain should know that the mountain has friends, and we will stand by you,” he declared.

The display of solidarity comes just days after Deputy President Gachagua claimed that certain MPs from both Kenya Kwanza and the Azimio coalition were plotting to impeach him in favor of a “puppet” candidate.

In response to these threats, Gachagua maintained that only the Kenyan people who elected him could remove him from office.
