Kivutha Kibwana Appointed Law Professor at Daystar University

Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has joined Daystar University as a Law School professor.

In a statement on Thursday, Kibwana revealed that he will take over the Master of Laws (LLM) Programme starting in January 2025, after previously serving at the University of Nairobi for 25 years.

“I thank God for the opportunity to serve at Daystar University Law School as a professor after a previous 25-year stint at UoN,” Kibwana said.

The announcement was met with praise from Kenyans, who lauded his extensive academic background and commitment to mentoring young minds.

Kibwana, one of the country’s most academically accomplished public figures, holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, and two Master of Law degrees from Harvard University and the University of London.

He also earned a Doctorate of Juridical Science (SJD) from George Washington University.

Kibwana’s teaching career has shaped numerous prominent lawyers in Kenya, including Supreme Court justices Smokin Wanjala, Njoki Ndung’u, and Isaac Lenaola. Expressing his passion for education, Kibwana wrote,

be there,” signaling his dedication to inspiring the next generation of legal professionals
