Former teacher charged with Ksh 43 million fraud

A former Teacher was today arraigned in court and charged with fraudulently obtaining Ksh 43 million from his friend pretending he would help him convert the currency to US Dollars.

Taher Jivanjee Hassan Jamaly appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina and denied the charges against him.

According to the charge sheet, on diverse dates between 24th November and 16th December 2023 at Lang’ata, with intent to defraud, Taher obtained from Mohammed Zakirhusein Lukmanji Ksh 43,020,800.

The Chief Magistrate’s court heard that Hassan tricked Zakirhuseun into believing that he would help him convert the Ksh 43Million into USD a fact he knew to be false.

The Court released him on a bond of Ksh 400,000. The case will be mentioned on 9th Oct for Pretrial.
