Popular radio presenter Alex Mwakideu took to social media on Monday to vehemently deny allegations made by whistleblower Nelson Amenya regarding a purported scheme involving the Adani Group and Kenyan influencers.
Amenya claimed Mwakideu, alongside other prominent figures, received payments from a marketing company to promote and sanitize Adani’s image in Kenya.
In response, Mwakideu issued a challenge, offering a cash reward of Ksh1 million to anyone who could produce evidence supporting Amenya’s allegations.
“Check all my social media pages, and listen to Radio 47,” he stated. “If you find anywhere that Alex Mwakideu has defended Adani, I’ll give you Ksh1 million cash. This offer has no timeliness, so take your time. All the best!”
Amenya’s accusations, which gained traction over the weekend, claimed that leaked emails from the CEO of a marketing firm outlined a comprehensive strategy to enhance the perception of Adani’s interests in Kenya over the next three months.
The allegations suggest that upcoming projects, including a significant development at the Mombasa port, are part of this initiative.
