Former Second Lady Dorcas Gachagua Shares Encouraging Message

Former Second Lady Dorcas Gachagua has sent a message of hope and resilience as her husband, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, continues to navigate legal battles following his impeachment.

In a heartwarming post on social media, Dorcas shared a picture of herself relaxing with Rigathi and their sons at their luxurious home, accompanied by a powerful message of faith.

“We choose to give a prayer of thanksgiving, understanding that God remains sovereign, whether He saves us from fire or not,” she wrote, referencing the biblical story of Daniel.

She expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness, praising Him as “Ebenezer”—a reminder of assistance and support in difficult times. “We have seen His mercy and experienced His goodness. Glory and honour be to His Holy name,” she added.

Dorcas also quoted Job 13:15-16, emphasizing her unwavering faith amid adversity: “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.” This declaration of hope comes as Rigathi faces serious allegations, including corruption and incitement to ethnic hatred, charges he fervently denies, asserting they are politically motivated.

The Gachagua family has been at the center of a political storm in recent weeks, following Rigathi’s impeachment by the Senate.

Kithure Kindiki has been officially sworn in as Kenya’s new Deputy President following a protracted legal battle that delayed his inauguration. The ceremony marked a significant moment for Kindiki, who has faced numerous hurdles since his appointment was first announced.

During the swearing-in ceremony, President William Ruto emphasized the importance of leadership rooted in inclusivity. He tasked Kindiki with serving all Kenyans equally, regardless of their political affiliations, stating, “The government of Kenya equally belongs to all the people.”
