Two Suspected Robbers Shot Dead in Kilimani Shootout

Police in Nairobi’s Kilimani area shot dead two suspected robbers during a patrol on Tigoni Road near the Naivas chain store.

The incident unfolded when officers encountered the three-member gang involved in a robbery in progress.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), a shootout ensued, resulting in the fatalities of the two robbers, who were described as “permanently immobilized.” A third suspect managed to escape with gunshot injuries.

Authorities recovered a handgun, a machete, several mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the scene.

The recovered items played a crucial role in identifying the suspects, as two members of the public who had previously fallen victim to the gang were able to link the items back to them.

The DCI praised the swift action of the officers and reiterated their commitment to addressing crime in the area. As investigations continue, authorities are urging anyone with information about the escaped suspect to come forward.

Further updates will follow as investigations progress.
