Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death for Influencer Tabitha Gatwiri

The untimely death of popular content creator and comedian Tabitha Gatwiri has been attributed to suffocation, as revealed in an autopsy report conducted at the Kenyatta University Funeral Home.

According to the report, Gatwiri, who passed away at the age of 29, succumbed to “positional asphyxia with brain edema.”

Positional asphyxia occurs when an individual’s position prevents adequate breathing, leading to a lack of oxygen and, ultimately, unconsciousness or death. This condition can arise when a person remains in an abnormal position for an extended period, obstructing the airway.

Gatwiri’s death was met with shock and grief across social media, where she was a beloved figure with over 120,000 followers on TikTok. Friends described her as vibrant and in high spirits just two days before her passing, despite having fallen ill. Screenshots of text messages shared by her industry peers showed that she had been engaging and lively even while unwell.

Concerns over Gatwiri’s well-being escalated when her brother found himself unable to reach her by phone. Acting on his instincts, he visited her home, where he discovered her lifeless body.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka joined many in mourning the loss of the talented actress. “She was a young woman determined to change the world for the better with her ideas,” he said, remembering their thought-provoking discussions.

Gatwiri rose to fame through her humorous skits, particularly known for her relatable takes on university life and relationships, including a viral skit about her university boyfriend. Her presence in the entertainment scene, notably in “The Real House Helps of Kawangware,” will be sorely missed.

As tributes continue to pour in, the community remembers a bright talent whose life was tragically cut short.
