Opposition Youth Leader Reportedly Abducted At A Dar es Salaam Bus Station

Police in Tanzania are investigating the alarming abduction of opposition youth leader Abdul Nondo, who was reportedly snatched by unknown assailants in Dar es Salaam.

The incident occurred at a bus station in the early hours of Sunday, where Nondo is said to have been taken by two individuals in a white four-wheel-drive vehicle.

While authorities have not officially confirmed the victim’s identity, police reported that a bag containing items believed to belong to Nondo was left behind at the scene, adding to the growing concerns surrounding his whereabouts.

This brazen kidnapping comes just months after the tragic abduction and murder of Chadema’s senior leader, Ali Mohamed Kibao, who was taken from a bus, brutally beaten, and ultimately had acid poured over him.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan responded vigorously to that heinous crime, vowing accountability and calling for a thorough investigation.

Nondo was reportedly returning from a campaign trip in the western region of Tanzania, where he had been advocating for his party’s local government candidates.

The ACT Wazalendo party has raised alarms over the incident, demanding immediate action from law enforcement and emphasizing the urgent need for protection of opposition leaders in the country.
