Konza Technopolis is set to transform Kenya’s creative and sports sectors with key projects like the Digital Media City and a Smart Sports Complex taking shape.
These initiatives are set to unlock the creative and digital economy’s potential, drive investment and create jobs, positioning Kenya as a hub for media, entertainment and sports innovation.
The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Hon. Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, praised Konza’s progress during a visit with Konza Technopolis Development Authority CEO John Paul Okwiri.
“Konza’s advancements are a game-changer for Kenya’s economy, sports, and creative industries. This city is pivotal in spurring economic growth and attracting investors to Kenya,” said Hon. Murkomen.
The Digital Media City, developed in partnership with the Republic of Korea, will span 160 acres as a hub for gaming, animation, film and software development, equipping talent with skills to thrive globally.
Alongside the operational Konza National Data Centre, Open University of Kenya and near-complete Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), these projects reinforce Konza’s vision as a leader in innovation.
