Hospital employee charged with allegedly stealing over Ksh 5 million

A mission hospital employee was today arraigned in Court for allegedly stealing over Ksh 5 million from the hospital.

Charles Omondi Okuro, the credit control officer from Edelvalve Trust Jamaa Home and Mission Hospital in Nairobi was arraigned before Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe at Milimani Law Courts for stealing Ksh 5,569,035 from the hospital.

He is alleged to have stolen the said money which came to his possession by virtue of his employment on diverse dates between January 20, 2020 and September 30, 2024.

He was also charged with fraudulently falsifying Bank Account details belonging to the hospital with intent to defraud the Hospital.

He denied the charges and was released on Ksh 1.5 million bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 800,000.
