A suspected burglar was arraigned in court today for breaking into a residence in the Sun View estate on Muchai Drive and stealing various items, including a Mercedes Benz remote valued at Ksh 50,000.
The suspect, Rodwel Ballon Ogunya, allegedly broke into the house and stole two flash drives worth Ksh 1,000, a Samsung mobile charger valued at Ksh 2,000, and the high-value Mercedes Benz remote.
The prosecution claimed that the stolen items were later found in Rodwel’s possession.
However, Rodwel vehemently denied the charges, maintaining his innocence.
He also brought forward claims of mistreatment during his arrest, alleging that the complainant, accompanied by others, assaulted him, causing injuries to his head and chest. He pleaded with the court to issue an order for the police to take him to the hospital.
The court directed that Rodwel be released on a Ksh 100,000 cash bail.
