Radio Jambo host Gidi Ogidi has denied social media claims of losing 10, 000 YouTube subscribers following his performance during the Jamhuri Day celebrations.
The event, held to commemorate Kenya’s independence, saw Gidi take the stage alongside other artists to perform his popular hit, “Maji Maji”.
The line up also featured celebrated musician Mejja, Jua Cali, Madtraxx and the Grandpa Family.
However, in a statement on Wednesday, Gidi despised the rumours saying that he has never been active on YouTube and therefore he has never had the 10K subscribers.
“I have seen some TikTokers, and bloggers are using this fake story in their commentaries. I am not active on YouTube and I have never had 10k subscribers,” he said.

Adding; “I don’t monetize social media, I only use it for social commentary. Iam only active on Facebook.”
Gidi went ahead to warn his followers to ignore fake news which are created by people looking for likes and click bait online.
“Watch out and ignore fake news created by people looking for likes and click bait online,” he added.
