Insurers withdraw Hospital services after damning expose

An expose that triggered widespread condemnation to Nairobi Women’s hospital has triggered withdrawal of key insurers from the facility.

AAR Insurance, Old Mutual Insurance, CIC Group issued out alerts to its customers, informing them of withdrawal of services to the hospital.

“Due to some administrative concerns, we wish to inform you that services at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital will be suspended, effective 5th January 2020… ” read one statement by the CIC Group.

Nairobi Women Hospital has been at the epicenter of a cost inflation complaint, launched by its clients who were attended to at the facility.

The move came moments after the hospital’s board launched an investigation into the claim that some of its doctors force patients to undertake unnecessary procedures.

The storm finally descended on the facility after leaked conversations flooded the internet showing how the hospital fleeces its patients.

Leaked WhatApp chats revealed how the hospital bosses set daily targets for the number of patients who should be admitted and discharged.

They show that the revenue, commissions, and discharge numbers were allegedly being actively monitored every day by Dr Felix Wanjala.
