As part of the Draft Traffic (School Transport) Rules 2025, NTSA has introduced the requirement for vehicle attendants to be stationed on school transport vehicles.
The attendants will be responsible for ensuring that children are safely boarded and disembarked, thus reducing the risk of accidents during transportation.
Furthermore, NTSA has emphasized the importance of implementing a crossing guard system.
The guards will be positioned at strategic points along the school routes to help supervise and manage the safe passage of children to and from school vehicles, thereby minimizing the risk of road accidents.
