Former IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati critically ill 

    Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairperson Wafula Chebukati is in critical condition.

    The former IEBC chairman has been admitted to a Nairobi hospital and has been receiving treatment for nearly a week.

    According to hospital sources, the former IEBC boss has been admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

    “We are monitoring his situation at the ICU,” the source told a local daily.

    What Chebukati ails from remains private.

    Close family sources said the former IEBC boss has been undergoing treatment at home and was taken to the Hospital after the situation got dire.

    Chebukati served as IEBC chair for a full term of six years and retired in January 2023.

    He presided over the 2017 and 2022 General Elections.
