Barcelona travel to Italy on Tuesday night to face Inter Milan in the decisive second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final, with the tie delicately poised after a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg. The Catalans remain on course for a treble but must overcome a tough challenge at the San Siro to progress.
In the first leg, Inter surged ahead with goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries, before 17-year-old Lamine Yamal sparked a Barcelona comeback, becoming the youngest player to score in a Champions League semi-final. Ferran Torres and a Yann Sommer own goal ensured the tie remains wide open.
Yamal’s historic performance drew high praise from both coaches, with Inter’s Simone Inzaghi calling him a once-in-50-years talent, and Barcelona boss Hansi Flick hailing him a “genius.” Yamal, however, played down comparisons to Lionel Messi, stating he aims to be himself.
Barcelona will miss defender Jules Kounde due to injury but could welcome back striker Robert Lewandowski ahead of schedule. Inter’s Lautaro Martinez remains doubtful, with Mehdi Taremi or Marko Arnautovic likely to fill in.
With both teams eyeing a place in the final, a high-stakes showdown awaits at the San Siro.
