Manchester United Open to Second Loan for Antony

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to send Antony out on a second loan spell next season if no suitable permanent offers are received for the Brazilian winger.

Signed for a staggering £86 million from Ajax in January 2022, Antony has failed to meet expectations at Old Trafford and was loaned to Real Betis in January in an effort to reignite his career and boost his market value.

The move has proved fruitful so far, with the 24-year-old notching seven goals and four assists in 20 appearances for the La Liga club.

While Betis are eager to retain Antony beyond the summer, their current loan agreement does not include a purchase option.

Club officials have been vocal about their desire to keep the winger and are reportedly working to extend his loan for another 12 months.

However, Manchester United are prioritizing a permanent sale, with Spanish outlet MARCA reporting that the club is holding out for offers in the region of £40 million.

The Red Devils remain firm in their stance and are unwilling to accept a cut-price deal, partly due to ongoing payments owed to Ajax for the player’s original transfer.

Betis’ hopes could be further complicated by growing interest from other clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, both of whom have been linked following Antony’s revival in Spain.

If a loan deal materializes again, United would prefer it to include a mandatory purchase clause, though Betis may push for a conditional option based on Champions League qualification.
