Kenya is once again blessed with a moment of grace and spiritual upliftment as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was elected Pope Leo XIV.
Then serving as the Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, Cardinal Prevost presided over the dedication of the Chapel of Our Mother of Good Counsel at the International House of St. Augustine Convent.
The long-awaited event was the culmination of over 20 years of prayer, planning, and perseverance by the Augustinian community in Kenya.

In his address during the moving ceremony, Cardinal Prevost described the new chapel as not just a building, but a sanctuary of prayer and charity — a home where hearts would be united in faith, echoing the teachings of St. Augustine.
Attended by clergy, seminarians, and lay faithful from across the country, the dedication reflected the deep-rooted connection between the local Church and the global Catholic mission.
The visit by Cardinal Prevost, now elevated to the papacy, serves as a divine affirmation of Kenya’s role in the spiritual tapestry of the Catholic Church.
The new chapel now stands as a shining symbol of unity, hope, and enduring faith across the African continent.
