Judiciary Launches Mobile App to Streamline Court Services

The Judiciary of Kenya has launched a new mobile application designed to make court services more accessible, efficient, and transparent for all Kenyans.

The e-Judiciary app, now available on both Google Play and the App Store, integrates the Case Tracking System (CTS) and E-Filing services into a single, user-friendly platform.

With seven core features, the app enables users to track cases, file claims, verify court documents, access court schedules, and join virtual court sessions — all from a smartphone.

It also offers tools for checking payment status, verifying the authenticity of court rulings, and monitoring the progress of succession cases.

A key innovation is the case mapping feature, which allows litigants to attach new documents to existing files, streamlining reference and improving file management.

“This app allows real-time case tracking without visiting the court registry,” reads part of the statement.

“It eliminates long queues, unnecessary calls, and the need to travel for simple court services.”

The app is expected to significantly reduce congestion in court premises and ease logistical challenges for legal professionals, litigants, and public institutions such as police and prison services.

“This builds public confidence and ensures that fake court documents are eliminated,” the statement notes.

It also supports filings to the Small Claims Court, a move aimed at cutting costs and improving access to justice.

The Judiciary credited the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of the Netherlands for supporting the app’s development, calling it a step toward “social transformation through access to justice using technology.”

“This is part of our mission for social transformation through access to justice using technology,” the Judiciary said.
