Kenya’s Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has been conferred the title of Knight of the Royal Maharlika during the prestigious We Care for Humanity Royal Summit held in Las Vegas, United States.
The international event, known for drawing world leaders and changemakers, recognized Senator Nyamu as a Protector of the Earth, Change-Maker, and Peace-Builder in honor of her contributions to public service and advocacy.
In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Nyamu expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, calling it “an extraordinary honour” and dedicating it to those who tirelessly pursue change despite adversity.
“It is with humility and immense gratitude that I accept this extraordinary honour… as a protector of the Earth, a change-maker, and a peace-builder,” she said.
She went on to thank We Care for Humanity, the Royal Maharlika, and the Sultanate of Maguindanao for acknowledging her journey and the resilient spirit of the Kenyan people—especially her Nairobi constituents.
Reflecting on her journey into politics, Nyamu recalled campaigning for her senatorial nomination while heavily pregnant, noting that it was not to prove a point, but because “duty demanded it.”
“Leadership is not defined by ease or comfort, but by commitment,” she stated.
Senator Nyamu also used the moment to champion inclusive leadership, saying that anyone—whether a student, a parent, a farmer, or a civil servant—can lead with “power, grace, and purpose.”
In an emotional tribute, she thanked her father, Mr. Nyamu, whom she described as her “foundation” and a source of unwavering support.
“This honour strengthens my resolve to keep pushing the limits, to expand opportunity for future generations, and to remind every young person: do not shrink your dreams to fit the moment. Rise, speak, act—the world is waiting for what only you can offer,” she said.
Nyamu concluded her remarks by thanking Queen Mariam Torres Mastura and the We Care for Humanity organization, expressing her commitment to collaborate in advancing peace and humanitarian efforts globally.
“May we all rise together in dignity, in courage, and in love for humanity. God bless you. God bless Kenya. And God bless the world,” she said.
The We Care for Humanity Royal Summit is a global platform that celebrates leaders and organizations championing peace, sustainable development, and humanitarian progress. Senator Nyamu now joins a distinguished list of international honorees recognized for their positive impact on society.
