US: Terror Suspect Arrested After Setting Pro-Israel Protesters On Fire

A peaceful Sunday afternoon in Boulder was shattered by a violent attack at the popular Pearl Street Mall, leaving several people seriously injured and prompting a terror investigation.

The incident unfolded just before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of 13th Street and Pearl Street, during what officials described as a peaceful pro-Israel demonstration.

Witnesses reported chaos as a man allegedly armed with a weapon began attacking bystanders, with police later confirming multiple victims sustained injuries consistent with burns.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact nature of the attack, but FBI Director Kash Patel labeled it a “targeted terror attack,” adding that federal agents are working alongside local law enforcement to uncover the motive.

“Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already,” Patel stated, promising further updates as the investigation continues.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis condemned the incident, calling it a “heinous act of terror,” and emphasized the state’s commitment to working with federal partners to ensure justice is served. “Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable,” he said on X.

Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn, while calling the event a “tragedy,” said it was too early to definitively label it as a terror attack, pending further investigation.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Authorities have cordoned off the area between Broadway, Pine, 16th Street, and Walnut Street, urging the public to stay away as the scene remains unsafe.
