DP Kindiki To Kenyans—Reject Tribalist Politics

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on Kenyans to firmly reject leaders who spread ethnic, regional, or religious divisions, warning that such politics threatens the nation’s unity, security, and stability.

Speaking at Ithookwe Grounds during the Kitui Central Constituency Economic Empowerment Programme, DP Kindiki emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains focused on delivering the 2022 Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), aimed at uplifting ordinary Kenyans from all walks of life.

“We are on course,” he declared, “in fulfilling the promises made to Mama Mboga, boda boda riders, hawkers, Jua Kali artisans, and other small-scale entrepreneurs who form the backbone of our economy.”

Among the projects highlighted was the government’s ambitious plan to construct 400 modern markets and boost rural electrification.
In Kitui County alone, 16,000 additional households are being connected to the national grid at a cost of KSh2 billion — including 2,000 homes in Kitui Central at KSh200 million.

“These are not promises. These are projects that change lives,” Kindiki affirmed.

The Deputy President was joined by top national leaders including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Majority Leaders Kimani Ichung’wah (National Assembly) and Aaron Cheruiyot (Senate), alongside MPs from across the region and local leadership.

He praised the Kitui Central empowerment program for targeting women, youth, Jua Kali workers, and boda boda SACCOs — calling it a model for community-led growth.
