Raila bids farewell to U.S Ambassador Marc Dillard

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has bid farewell to Ambassador Marc Dillard, the acting US Ambassador to Kenya, as his assignment comes to an end.

In a statement, Raila said they had a productive discussion covering recent developments in Kenya, the United States, and around the world.

“We both acknowledge and celebrate the strong ties that already exist between our two nations. Ambassador Dillard assured me that these ties will not only continue but will also expand in the future, which is very welcome news,” Raila said.

According to Raila, he took the opportunity to express his concern regarding the abrupt implementation of certain US policy decisions that can have a significant impact on developing nations like Kenya.

Raila noted that it’s crucial that such policies consider the unique circumstances and potential repercussions for countries in the Global South.

“Finally, I wished Ambassador Dillard all the very best in his new assignments,” he said.
