The Catholic church led by Nyeri archbishop Antony Muheria has launched a 24hour call center and a paybill to assist needy families during the Coronavirus pandemic. – By Prudence Wanza.
The Good shepherd call center will offer counseling services to people who suffer depression and anxiety during this difficult period.
Muheria said 8 psychological counselors are already available to help and urged any willing counselors to come out assist in the initiative.
The toll free number 0800723555 will be available any time of the day to offer assistance to anyone who calls in.
The archbishop also rolled out a paybill number to help in providing meals to the less fortunate families. Anyone willing to contribute should use the paybill number: 4023131 and account name: HOPE.

Muheria said that the needy families will be identified through the small Christian groups urging all Kenyans to support with the little they have.
“We are asking all of you, Christians and people of goodwill to help during this Corona virus pandemic,” he said.
The two initiatives are in conjunction with the Catholic diocese of Kitui.
Archbishop Peter Kairu is the main trustee of the initiative and Kitui Diocese bishop-elect Father Joseph Mwongela is also a trustee of the initiative.
