Migori Family Demands Justice After Son Found Dead in Suspected Murder

A family in Nyasoko area, Rongo sub-county, is seeking justice following the mysterious death of their 33-year-old son, Billy Ochieng’, whose body was found dumped in a bush over the weekend.

According to his mother, Monica Adhiambo, Ochieng’ had been missing since Friday, June 27, and his lifeless body was discovered on Sunday, June 29, by his father while on his way to Riosir Market. The discovery has left the family devastated and searching for answers.

Adhiambo said she last saw her son two days before his body was found and remains deeply troubled by the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death. She reported that his body bore deep cuts, suggesting he may have been brutally murdered elsewhere and later dumped near their homestead.

“We are heartbroken and demand to know what happened to our son. Whoever did this must not go unpunished,” said the grieving mother.

The family has called on authorities to conduct a thorough and speedy investigation to ensure those responsible are identified and prosecuted.

Rongo police have since launched investigations into the incident and are appealing to members of the public with any relevant information to come forward to aid in the probe.

The case has reignited concerns over rising insecurity in parts of Migori County and the need for strengthened community policing and surveillance.
