EABL Announces Key Leadership Changes, Andrew Kilonzo to Lead Kenyan Unit

East African Breweries Plc (EABL) has announced significant leadership changes, naming Andrew Kilonzo as the new Managing Director for Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), effective October 1, 2025. Kilonzo will take over from Mark Ocitti, who is set to step down on September 30, 2025.

Kilonzo, the current Managing Director of Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), has been lauded for his instrumental role in driving growth and transformation across EABL’s regional operations. His appointment underscores EABL’s commitment to nurturing internal talent and maintaining business continuity through strategic succession planning.

In a further reshuffle, Yvonne Mwangi, currently the Managing Director for Seychelles and the Indian Ocean Islands, has been appointed EABL Commercial Director for Kenya, also effective October 1. Mwangi brings over 15 years of experience in commercial operations, marketing, and strategic planning.

EABL Group Managing Director Jane Karuku praised the outgoing Ocitti for his contribution to the business and expressed confidence in the new leadership team.

“I want to thank Mark Ocitti for his invaluable contribution and welcome Andrew Kilonzo and Yvonne Mwangi into their new roles. I am confident this leadership team will continue to steer EABL’s performance, deepen our market penetration, and champion inclusion and diversity at all levels of our business,” said Karuku.

She added that the appointments reflect EABL’s strong succession pipeline and the company’s ongoing investment in leadership development, both internally and within the broader Diageo network.

The leadership changes come at a time when EABL continues to consolidate its position as a market leader in the East African beverage industry.
