Police in Mbooni East, Makueni County, have launched an investigation into the sudden death of a Form Three student from Kyangondu Secondary School.
The female student reportedly fell ill under unclear circumstances and was rushed to Kisau Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Mbooni East Police Commander Ephrahim Karani confirmed the incident and said officers are working to establish the cause of death.
“We have begun investigations to determine what led to the student’s death,” Karani stated, adding that postmortem examinations and witness interviews will be part of the inquiry.
The incident has left the school community and local residents in shock, as questions continue to emerge over the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Authorities have appealed for calm and patience as they await the results of the ongoing investigation.
