Madira Soccer Assassins Launch New Kit Ahead of 2025/26 Women’s Premier League Debut with KCB, Vihiga County Backing

Madira Girls Secondary School’s trailblazing football team, Madira Soccer Assassins, has officially unveiled their new team kit in style, marking their entry into the 2025/26 Women’s Premier League.

The vibrant launch event, held in Vihiga County, attracted local leaders, international sports icons, and partners rallying behind the now-nationally admired all-girls team.

The kit launch was spearheaded by former Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, who praised the team’s meteoric rise, particularly their historic contribution to the Kenya U17 girls’ national team that participated in the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup — a first for the country.

“This is more than just a football team. This is the future of women’s football in Kenya,” said Namwamba. “Madira represents excellence, discipline, and determination.”

The event also marked the announcement of KCB Group as a key sponsor, with additional support from the Vihiga County Government under the leadership of Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo.

The financial injection will go toward new kits, logistics, and preparing the team for the rigors of top-flight football.

Global sporting figures including David Clarke (former Manchester City player), Martí Torres (ex-Barcelona Youth Coach), Lauren Sesselmann (Canadian Olympic medalist), and Petra Anaya (Alfajiri Farms) graced the occasion, lauding the Madira project as a blueprint for grassroots talent development.

Madira Girls’ Principal Mary Saliku, long credited with nurturing the girls’ talent, expressed gratitude for the growing support.

“This is a dream realized not just for Madira but for every girl in Kenya who dares to dream beyond the classroom,” she said.
