Narok, Kenya — A man accused of fatally shooting a lawyer in Narok town has been arraigned at the Narok Law Courts following the Director of Public Prosecution’s (DPP) approval of a murder charge.
Paul Kanyinke Sena appeared before Deputy Registrar Hon. Phylis Shinyanda on Monday for initial directions in the case. The court ordered that the accused undergo a mental assessment and be produced in court for plea taking on 28th July 2025.
Sena stands accused of the murder of Mandela Nabaala Leyian, a respected advocate of the High Court of Kenya, who was allegedly shot at close range in the early hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fatal confrontation followed a disagreement between the two men over the blocking of Sena’s vehicle at an entertainment venue within Narok town.
The case has shocked the legal community and drawn widespread condemnation, with calls for justice and a speedy prosecution.
Sena remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
